When You Come to my Studio:
When you bring your quilt in for quilting, bring it in the three separate parts (front, batting and back). I will measure your quilt top to bottom and from side to side across the middle, the top and the bottom. Oftentimes there is a bit of a discrepancy and this is normal. When this is done, I measure the backing just to make sure that there is sufficient. During this time, discussion will take place for you to tell me what you would like to have done to the quilt. We will review patterns (see section below on preparing your quilt for quilting for specific pattern info), and then choose thread colour. Once that is finished, then the quilt and your selected thread will be placed in the queue for quilting.

Current Quilting Prices
I began long arm quilting in 2012 and have kept my fees at the same rate since that time. However, in 2023 due to the higher costs of thread, patterns and supplies in general it was necessary for me to increase my rates. I believe that these are still competitive and that my quilting friends are still getting good value for their money. Please see the current rates below.
Minimum Charge – $15.00
Pantograph Edge to Edge (continuous pattern that covers your entire quilt: Note we have many patterns to choose from) – $3.25 sq. ft. Please note that pantogram pattern names I’ve done are identified on a number of the quilts in the 2024 gallery.
Custom Quilting (entails stitch in the ditch, separate patterns for blocks, individual patterns for borders, etc.) – $6.00 sq. ft.
Basting for Handquilters (large meander with long stitches for easy removal) – $1.50 sq. ft.
Binding – Sewing binding on by machine, and then hand stitching down – 20 cents per inch
Note: Fees are calculated by measuring the quilt’s length and width in inches, multiplying these out to find the square inches and dividing by 144 (sq. ft.). The resultant number is multiplied by the appropriate rate.
